DID YOU BUY A SICK PUPPY?

Welcome graphic

Six years ago, Mickey was purchased from a pet store in Hollywood, Florida.
Mickey is a yellow Lab, and has many genetic defects. He has elbow dysplasia, hip dysplasia, enamel hypoplasia, and an impacted canine tooth.
He has suffered over the past 6 years with all the mentioned genetic problems, but recently, he was diagnosed with spontaneous pheumothorax, a lung condition. I beleive that it is genetic, altho it can't be proved and no studies have been done to say that it isn't, according to my vet.

FIVE YEARS LATER..MAY 2007

Mickey is coming home from the hospital today, and altho surgery was suggested to open his chest cavity, we chose to avoid surgery and putting him thru that for now.

FEBRUARY 2008
Mickey is doing amazingly well. He has been taking Chinese Herbs for over 6 months, plus Vine Essence Pills.
He has also been on Anthro-Ionx supplement bt VetionX. This product is much better than the other supplements he has been on for years.
I also cook whole foods for him i.e. chicken, or chopped meat, or turkey mixed with vegetables, and brown rice. This mixture is added to his kibble.
As long as Mickey doesn't exert himself, I beleive that he is well on the road to recovery.

JUNE 2008

Mickey had another lung collapse in the beginning of June. This time, the vets said that he wouldn't be as lucky as last time. The lungs were not responding to the chest tubes, and so it was either have the surgery, or loose him...I don't have to tell any dog lover what I chose to do...He had what looks like open heart surgery to remove the upper right portion of his lung that was damaged from the pneumothorax. He is recovering, and doing amazingly well after only 3 weeks. He needs 6-8 weeks to full recovery, and he is healing beyond my expectations very quickly.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION
To anyone who has purchased a sick puppy, and is considering suing the pet store where he came from.
I suggest you sue for an insurance policy for the future health of your dog. Let the pet shop pay the premium for the rest of the dogs life.
I have spent over $15,000 in medical expenses for my boy, between the elbow dysplasia, and now lung surgery.  If I had an insurance policy, it would have saved me a lot of money.
